Snap up customers

accommodation, how images form emotional responsesRecently it seems like I've spent hours online searching for accommodation in some of the most entertaining and relaxing settings.

What I discovered as a customer however, is the incredible division between those tourist operators who absolutely wow you with a sense of peace, luxury and relaxation, and those who present home made photos and lack lustre information.

As a creative developer I know it's not easy to put together a proposal single handed, but  do it all on your own and customers will vote with their wallets on how successful your presentation is. The key to tourism and the hospitality industry is that the "physical experience" plays as much a part as the "emotional experience" for customers when deciding on accommodation or tourist activities.

Ask yourself, what does your presentation say about your services ? Do customers get a sense immediately of relaxation when reviewing your website or marketing material?

Using self taken digital photography may be cheap, but it turns customers off subconsciously and expresses none of the feeling guests are looking for in their next retreat from a busy lifestyle. Here is an example of a simple mistake that can be easily and inexpensively fixed.

Self made shot gives the wrong impression. Well shot image which says "clean, relaxing and luxurious."

The old adage "a picture speaks a thousand words" rings true and given the influence professional photography and design has in the mind of customers .  Marketing is about fulfilling needs using both product and emotive elements  (tangible and intangible). If your presentation fulfils customer needs for a desirable, peaceful and tidy accommodation customers  and referrals will be on thfe increase.
